Privacy Policy

Coverdig lets you search for YouTube videos that may be useful for cover, sample, and interpolation research. When you enter a search term, that query and selected view-count filter are sent to Coverdig's server so the app can request matching results from YouTube.

Coverdig processes your search terms, selected filters, public YouTube metadata returned by YouTube API Services, browser session storage used to restore recent searches, and basic technical log data generated by the hosting provider.

Coverdig does not require an account, does not ask for your name, email address, payment details, or social profile, and does not intentionally collect sensitive personal information.

As you type, Coverdig may request autocomplete suggestions for the text in the search box. These suggestions are used only to help you complete artist and song searches faster.

Suggestions are filtered before display to reduce official, commercial, and polished release terms that do not fit Coverdig's discovery purpose.

Coverdig uses YouTube API Services to retrieve video search results, titles, channel names, thumbnails, publication dates, and view counts. YouTube may process requests according to Google's own privacy practices and terms.

When you open or play an embedded YouTube video, your interaction is handled by YouTube and may be subject to YouTube's cookies, tracking, and privacy policy.

Coverdig displays public YouTube metadata inside search result cards and uses cached copies of those public results to make repeated searches faster.

By using Coverdig search features that return YouTube data, you are also using features that rely on YouTube API Services. You can review the YouTube Terms of Service at https://www.youtube.com/t/terms and Google's Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Coverdig does not let you upload, modify, delete, or authorize private YouTube account data. The app only requests public YouTube search and video metadata needed to display discovery results.

Coverdig uses search terms and filters to request relevant public YouTube results, return suggestions, display result cards, restore the user's most recent search in the same browser session, maintain performance, troubleshoot errors, and protect the service from abuse.

Information may be processed by internal project maintainers only as needed to operate, debug, secure, and improve Coverdig.

Information may be shared with external service providers that support Coverdig, including the hosting provider, analytics provider, and YouTube API Services/Google, as necessary to provide search, embedded playback, analytics, security, caching, and technical operations.

Coverdig does not sell personal information and does not use search queries to build user profiles.

Coverdig does not currently set its own tracking cookies, create user accounts, or store personal profiles in the browser.

Third-party embedded services, including YouTube, may set cookies or use similar technologies when their content is loaded or played.

Like most web apps, the hosting provider may create basic technical logs such as IP address, requested URL, browser type, timestamps, and error details. These logs are used to keep the service reliable, investigate bugs, and protect against abuse.

Coverdig does not sell personal information and does not use search queries to build user profiles.

Coverdig may cache search responses and suggestions for performance. Cached data is tied to search terms and public YouTube metadata, not to user accounts.

Technical logs, if retained by the hosting provider, are kept only as long as needed for operations, security, and troubleshooting.

Coverdig does not maintain user accounts or personal search profiles, so there is no account database for users to delete from the service.

If you want to remove local traces of your use, clear your browser history, cache, cookies, and site data for Coverdig and YouTube in your browser settings.

Cached public YouTube search results expire automatically. If you contact Coverdig about a privacy concern, any related support correspondence will be deleted when it is no longer needed to handle the request, unless retention is required for security or legal reasons.

You can use Coverdig without creating an account. You can also avoid playing embedded YouTube videos and instead choose whether to open YouTube links directly.

If you do not want a query sent to Coverdig or YouTube-backed services, do not enter it into the search box.

This policy may be updated as Coverdig changes. The latest version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
